Studies Show Older Men Greatly Benefit from Tai Chi (Video)

A recent study suggests that tai chi can improve the quality of life of older men. The study, which was published in the journal Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice, looked at the effect of tai chi on the quality of life of elderly men.
  • Physical activity has been shown to improve the mental and physical health of the elderly.

  • A team of researchers from Iran, Norway, and the U.K. carried out a randomized controlled clinical trial on 132 older men in an urban area in Iran.
  •  
  • For the study, the research team randomly divided the participants into a treatment group and a control group. Participants in the treatment group participated in tai chi exercises for eight weeks.

  • The research team assessed the quality of life of the participants using a questionnaire before and after the intervention period.
