(N.Morgan) Metadata has been stressed by politicians to now be unimportant data, just numbers. They are lying to you. Metadata gives a clear trail of all of your communications, including phone records and emails. 

This regime wants you to believe that they don't need a warrant, since this data isn't revealing, in any way, according to their explanation. Again, they are lying to you and anyone they say this to. Your data is YOUR DATA and if they want access to it, let them get a warrant then. This is flat out tracking and surveillance.





 

MIT students, Deepak Jagdish and Daniel Smilkov's Immersion program,  uses your email account to map out your entire life. After you give the researchers access to your email metadata - not the content, just the time and date stamps, and "To" and "Cc" fields - they'll return to you a series of maps and graphs that will blow your mind.

The program will remind you of former loves, illustrate the changing dynamics of your professional and personal networks over time, mark deaths and transitions in your life, and more. You'll probably learn something new about yourself, if you study it closely enough.

(The students say they delete your data on your command.)
